About the position

The Technical Sales position is responsible for serving as a subject matter expert in the company's near-infrared sensing technology, assisting customers with sales and account management both on-site and remotely. This role emphasizes understanding customer requirements and demonstrating how technology solutions can lead to cost savings and production improvements. The position involves significant travel to customer facilities across the US and Canada, requiring a blend of technical knowledge and sales acumen.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer support by responding to requests for quotations with detailed analysis of product cost and schedule.
  • Work with engineering, sales, and production staff to formulate quotations based on customer demands.
  • Create and deliver presentations on company equipment to customers both online and in person.
  • Consult with potential customers to identify their needs and suggest appropriate products or services.
  • Perform troubleshooting and modifications to equipment both in office and on-site.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records using Zoho.
  • Pursue leads from the website and marketing efforts.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for customer needs and company growth.
  • Build sample calibrations and troubleshoot with Near-Infrared technology.
  • Create RMA records and repair equipment as needed for customers.
  • Provide project implementation support and manage medium complex projects.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of sales experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel last minute to customer sites
  • Strong sales and customer service skills with proven negotiation abilities
  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to various customer applications
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Background in Engineering
  • Previous knowledge of Near-Infrared technology
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or Related Field
