About the position

Parsons is seeking a talented Technical Security Systems Application Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will provide Tier 3 engineering support to the Department of State's overseas mission, which encompasses over 260 facilities worldwide. Your primary responsibilities will include researching, developing, and implementing new system hardware and software integrations and upgrades while adhering to security best practices. You will also be tasked with recommending, demonstrating, and implementing technologies that will help expand, upgrade, and enhance efficiencies within the current environment. In addition to these responsibilities, you will create and maintain technical instructions and operating procedures, monitor and troubleshoot application functionality and performance, and investigate user performance to improve the overall user experience. Responding to support requests and assisting users with Tier 3 incident resolution will be a key part of your role. You will identify, analyze, and resolve system incidents, providing both short-term workarounds and long-term solutions. Furthermore, you will provide remote end-user support, ensuring that our systems operate smoothly and efficiently across all locations. This position is part of our Federal Solutions team, which delivers essential resources to our US government customers, ensuring the success of missions around the globe. Responsibilities

  • Research, develop, and implement new system hardware and software integrations/upgrades while applying security best practices.
  • Recommend, demonstrate, and implement technologies to help expand, upgrade, and increase efficiencies to the current environment.
  • Create and maintain technical instructions and operating procedures.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot application functionality and performance.
  • Investigate user performance and work to improve user experience.
  • Respond to support requests and assist users with Tier 3 incident resolution.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve system incidents with both short-term workarounds and long-term solutions.
  • Provide remote end user support.

Requirements

  • An understanding of SQL and SQL queries.
  • Networking (Layer 2/3 routing/switching, firewalls/security policies).
  • PKI / FICAM CSEIP - (Certified System Engineer ICAM PACS) Certification Desired.
  • Automated Access Control Systems experience.
  • Intrusion Detection Systems experience.
  • Technical writing skills.
  • Linux experience.
  • Basic knowledge/understanding of computer programming.
  • Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Secret.
