About the position

As a Technical SEO Manager at AutoZone, you will be responsible for advancing the company's eCommerce business and leading the SEO program. This role involves executing strategies in specialized areas such as Technical SEO, Site Audit, and SEO Analytics and reporting. You will oversee SEO deliverables and optimize the company's websites for major search engines like Google and Bing, focusing on both B2C and B2B platforms, including international sites as growth indicates. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience with Technical SEO on large-scale B2C websites, preferably in a multi-channel retail environment, and will be adept at coordinating with third parties for international exposure. Your responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive site audits to identify on-page and technical SEO opportunities that can drive organic traffic at scale. You will monitor and analyze site performance using various SEO and analytics tools, providing detailed reports to internal stakeholders. Quality assurance of technical SEO during releases and implementations will also be a key part of your role. Collaboration with the SEO team and other stakeholders will be essential to define and refine SEO initiatives that drive organic traffic, conversion, and revenue growth. You will represent the SEO team in technical discussions with internal stakeholders and developers, effectively communicating product opportunities and expected outcomes. Leading key technical SEO initiatives and projects across IT, Marketing, and Merchandising will be part of your responsibilities. You will leverage both prior and new SEO knowledge to enhance projects that address real-world problems, measure and analyze the impact of existing functionalities, and work closely with team members and website analysts to understand the effects of all SEO activities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive, prioritized site audits and proactively identify on-page and technical SEO opportunities that drive organic traffic at scale
  • Monitor and analyze site performance using a range of SEO and site analytics tools, providing comprehensive reporting to internal stakeholders
  • QA of technical SEO during releases and implementations
  • Collaborate with the SEO team and other stakeholders to define new and refine existing SEO initiatives that will drive organic traffic, conversion, and revenue growth
  • Represent the SEO team in technical-level discussions with internal stakeholders and developers, effectively communicating and gaining buy-in on product opportunities, needs, and expected outcomes
  • Lead key technical SEO initiatives and projects for the organization across IT, Marketing, and Merchandising
  • Leverage prior and new SEO knowledge to enhance projects that drive solutions for real-world problems
  • Measure and analyze the impact of existing functionalities
  • Work closely with team members and website analysts to understand the impact of all SEO activities and hurdle rates for new activities

Requirements

  • A substantial understanding of technical SEO factors for large eCommerce sites, such as site architecture, discoverability, canonicalization and redirects, internal linking, schema, dynamic content, and site audits
  • A solid mastery of interpreting and understanding code, familiarity with modern frameworks (react, stencil, etc.), and implications on SEO
  • Experience using enterprise SEO platforms and tools
  • Minimum of 4 years of SEO experience in a multi-channel retail environment
  • Expertise with Google Search Console, Adobe Analytics, Yext, and preferably, React and Lucidworks
  • Experience with Ahrefs, SEMrush, and/or SimilarWeb
  • Experience working with large data sets to create insights and actions
  • Experience working with APIs and Web Services
  • Agile experience preferred
  • Jira experience preferred
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, Computer Engineering, or closely related required
  • Ability to understand and leverage technology for customer experience and sales growth
  • Ability to relay strategic direction, goals, and tactics to external partners
  • Strong planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office, Teams, and JIRA
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Execute effectively by using resources efficiently, meeting deadlines, and keeping others informed of work plans and progress toward goals
  • Business case analysis, planning, project management, and presentation skills
  • Proficiency with new tools, technology, and techniques in the SEO industry
