About the position

Spirit AeroSystems is seeking a Technical Services Specialist to join our team in Wichita, Kansas. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, documenting, and coordinating the implementation of policies, processes, practices, procedures, standards, and specifications for the control of Product Configuration Information. This includes managing baseline product and program configuration information and any changes related to the development, testing, manufacturing, and production of our products, systems, and equipment. A working knowledge of EIA-649 is essential for this position. You will create configuration management plans that encompass both technical and management processes tailored to unique program and product requirements, ensuring compliance with customer, company, and regulatory standards. Your responsibilities will also include verifying that product configurations, subcontract deliverables, and prime contract deliverables meet applicable requirements. You will collaborate with various disciplines, customers, regulatory agencies, and subcontractors to monitor compliance with all relevant requirements. Additionally, you will apply your knowledge of external standard development organizations such as AS9100, SAE, ASME, and DOD, along with the company's internal governance structures, policies, and procedures. This position is critical in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance, contributing to the overall success of Spirit AeroSystems in the aerospace industry.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and coordinate implementation of policies, processes, practices, procedures, standards, and specifications for control of Product Configuration Information.
  • Create configuration management plans for unique program/product requirements in accordance with customer, company, and regulatory requirements.
  • Verify that product configuration, subcontract deliverables, and prime contract deliverables are in compliance with applicable requirements.
  • Review and coordinate with other disciplines, customers, regulatory agencies, and subcontractors to monitor compliance with customer, company, and regulatory requirements.
  • Apply knowledge of external standard development organizations and the company's internal governance structures, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of relevant experience with BA/BS degree
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience with MA degree
  • 2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience with CATIA, Enovia, 3DExperience, and SAP.
  • 2-4 years of configuration management and control within a manufacturing environment including derivative product definition data.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D models
  • Auditing or working within an audit team to confirm compliance with documented procedures
  • Leadership experience / ability to effectively drive results from start to finish in a dynamic environment
