About the position

As a Technical Solutions Engineer at Stem, you will play a crucial role in providing technical engineering partnership to the sales team and Stem's customers during the origination and design phases of renewable power and energy storage systems. Your expertise will be essential in serving as a trusted advisor, lending credibility to utility-scale storage opportunities throughout the sales lifecycle. This position requires you to engage in day-to-day activities that include customer calls, describing technical solutions, managing technical cases and opportunities, and generating technical proposal content. Additionally, you will interact with product management and procurement to evaluate and specify special buys with equipment vendors, ensuring that the technical aspects of proposals meet client needs. In this role, you will provide necessary support and documentation for Stem's balance of plant and cost estimates, as well as technical support to the sales and legal teams during contract negotiations with clients. You will be responsible for requesting appropriate technical documentation from product management as part of the contracting process and providing scope of work documents and technical contract exhibit language as necessary before the customer issues a Purchase Order (P.O.) for the deployment team to carry out after the sale is complete. Furthermore, you will support the deployment team during project construction with scope clarifications and contribute to developing detailed design concepts for energy storage system design for contracted projects.
