About The Position

The Technical Specialist I (Parking Enforcement Assignment) position within the City of Pomona Police Department's Traffic Bureau is responsible for enforcing parking regulations in accordance with the California Vehicle Code and Pomona Municipal Code. This part-time role involves assisting full-time staff with various parking enforcement duties, including marking and towing abandoned vehicles, and ensuring compliance with street sweeping ordinances. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalency.
• One year of experience involving substantial public contact.
• Valid California Class C driver's license.
• Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid, Pepper Spray, and NCIC certificates within 12 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Enforce City parking regulations and issue parking citations for various violations.
• Operate a City vehicle and ensure equipment is in proper working order.
• Mark and tow abandoned vehicles and respond to incidents requiring towing.
• Deploy radar trailer upon request and assist with CDL/DUI checkpoints.
• Assist the public by providing directions and information regarding citations.
• Respond to calls involving minor traffic matters and gather traffic statistics.
• Maintain logs and records related to parking operations and prepare reports.
• Utilize computer equipment for data entry and information retrieval.
