About the position

The position involves supporting the development of Bolivia's NDC implementation plan for the energy, forests, water, and agriculture sectors. This plan is a strategic and operational instrument that integrates climate commitments with prioritized actions in each sector, facilitating their fulfillment. The consultant will conduct technical analyses, stakeholder consultations, and workshops to identify gaps, barriers, and needs in achieving the NDC targets, particularly in the agricultural sector. The role includes developing a comprehensive financing strategy and an agricultural sector NDC implementation plan, ensuring alignment with the NDC 3.0 update process and incorporating gender considerations throughout the project.

Responsibilities

  • Elaborate a work plan detailing the expected timeline for deliverables.
  • Create a database of reviewed documents and record meetings and interviews.
  • Ensure timely and coordinated delivery of all products.
  • Integrate updated baseline data and indicators from the NDC Update into project deliverables.
  • Provide technical inputs to the APMT and integrate feedback before final submissions.
  • Support the Senior Project Manager in developing a methodology for the NDC implementation plan.
  • Organize and facilitate workshops for stakeholder validation and training.
  • Collaborate with the NDC 3.0 update team to align agricultural sector indicators with national priorities.
  • Attend and contribute to meetings with relevant stakeholders and institutions.
  • Support the Senior Manager in preparing narrative progress reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Environmental Management, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Economics, Political Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum three years of relevant work experience in climate change mitigation and/or adaptation in the agricultural sector.
  • Proven knowledge of climate policy, climate finances, and institutional arrangements related to the agricultural sector in Bolivia.
  • Experience in facilitating stakeholder consultations and preparing technical reports.
  • Experience integrating gender considerations into projects or public policies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Postgraduate courses in relevant fields such as Climate Change or Environmental Management.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing policy and strategy reports for national governments.
  • Fluency in English.
