About the position

The Technical Specialist - Training Advisor role at SRE involves developing and delivering training programs aimed at enhancing community resilience and preparing stakeholders for effective disaster risk reduction and management. This position is integral to SRE's mission of serving the federal government and making a positive impact on communities through organizational transformation services.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop comprehensive training programs tailored to the needs of various community stakeholders, including local governments, organizations, and residents.
  • Deliver engaging and effective training sessions, workshops, and seminars both in-person and virtually.
  • Develop and update training curricula, materials, and resources to ensure they are current, relevant, and aligned with program objectives.
  • Conduct training needs assessments to identify gaps in knowledge and skills among community stakeholders and tailor training programs accordingly.
  • Develop evaluation tools and processes to assess the effectiveness of training programs and incorporate feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with project teams, including planners, engineers, and community engagement specialists, to ensure training programs are integrated with broader project goals.
  • Engage with community stakeholders to promote training opportunities and encourage participation.
  • Maintain accurate records of training activities, participant progress, and program outcomes.
  • Ensure all training activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Education, Industrial Design, Emergency Management) required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in training development and delivery, preferably in the context of disaster risk reduction or community resilience.
  • Strong instructional design and curriculum development skills.
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency in using various training delivery methods, including e-learning platforms.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient writing and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Experience with online meeting platforms such as Google Meet and Zoom.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of $59,000-130,000/year based on experience and qualifications.
  • Remote work flexibility with site work as required by customer.
