About the position
The Technical Support 3 position at Idealforce is a contract role based in Detroit, MI, focused on providing expert technical support in an Information Technology environment. The role involves diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, leading teams in technical assignments, and ensuring the efficient operation of computer systems and networks. The position requires both on-site and remote support capabilities, with a strong emphasis on communication and project management.
Responsibilities
- Provide problem diagnosis, implementation, administration, support, and maintenance of computer hardware, software, and network products.
- Communicate effectively with users, unit staff, and managers.
- Analyze operational problems and investigate alternative solutions.
- Initiate corrective actions and record/report status.
- Teach and assist other staff and users in technical matters.
- Lead, coordinate, and oversee teams working on processes and technical specifications.
- Plan, design, and oversee analytical and technical assignments.
- Maintain and support remote application and file servers, network operating systems, and local area networks.
- Troubleshoot Local Area Network connectivity issues and administer network groups and user rights.
- Enforce security standards and perform virus/spyware remediation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 21 semester credits in computer science, data processing, computer information systems, or related fields.
- Two years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11.
- Possession of an associate's degree with relevant credits and two years of experience as an application programmer or IT technician may substitute for education requirements.
- High school completion with four years of experience as an application programmer or IT technician may also substitute for education requirements.
