About the position

The Technology Support Administrator (IT Systems Administrator) at GEHA is responsible for administering and maintaining IT operating systems and related hardware and software to ensure stable performance. This role involves handling complex issues, acting as a liaison for Tier 3 engineers, and participating in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to align with company goals and regulatory requirements. The position requires minimal supervision and involves collaboration with various teams to implement desktop and server systems following industry best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Service Desk, Engineering, Application, and Database Administration teams to implement desktop and server systems.
  • Deploy servers, printers, scanners, switches, routers, and other hardware as required.
  • Ensure proper management of Configuration Items (CIs) within the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
  • Install and configure software and hardware.
  • Evaluate complex system specifications and ensure hardware and software compatibility.
  • Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements.
  • Document and maintain configuration and process information.
  • Act as a liaison between the Service Desk team and engineering and architecture teams.
  • Research and recommend innovative approaches for system administration tasks.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to other teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Services or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience with Microsoft Client and Server products and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Working technical knowledge of network, PC, and platform operating systems, including Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprise, Microsoft Windows Server 2016/2019, RedHat Enterprise Linux, VMWare, and Cisco IOS/NX-OS.
  • Extensive application support experience in a fully virtualized Microsoft and VMWare environment.
  • Knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards, including Citrix, Virtualization, Hyper-Converged Infrastructure, Software Defined Networks (SDN), Active Directory, Firewalls, PBX, CMDB, SCCM, and Intune.
  • Proficient in PowerShell scripting and experience in process automation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with monitoring tools such as NetScout, NetBrain, SolarWinds, and Splunk.
  • Experience with SASE solutions such as Zscaler, Netskope.
