About the position

The Technical Support and Manufacturing and Production (TSM&P) Department Manager at Sierra Lobo, Inc. is responsible for overseeing the Technical Support & Production and Manufacturing personnel. This role includes managing performance evaluations, training, and ensuring effective communication with stakeholders. The manager will also handle supply chain aspects, inventory control, and the implementation of industry standards within the manufacturing facility. The position requires a strong technical background and experience in program management, particularly within the aerospace sector.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Technical Support & Production and Manufacturing personnel, including performance evaluations and training.
  • Manage the Materials Manager, responsible for scheduling critical parts, storage, and facility management.
  • Handle all aspects of the supply chain, including shipping, receiving, inspection, and demand planning.
  • Maintain property management records and conduct property audits.
  • Ensure inventory control and manage bonded storage.
  • Implement American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and IPC controls for work products in the manufacturing facility.
  • Provide core technical expertise for personnel within the department.
  • Maintain open communication with B/DOMs and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical discipline.
  • Master's Degree or PhD preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in program management or operations management, preferably in the aerospace industry.
  • Experience managing a workforce of 75 or more employees.
  • Direct experience with management of people and programs for cross-utilization and cross-training facility personnel.
  • Experience with marketing and business development of test services.
  • Experience developing and managing contract teams in a seamless, integrated manner.
  • Direct experience with program management in a performance-based contract environment.
  • Experience implementing organizational change and partnering with customers in an operations environment.
  • Track record of initiating process improvements and cost reductions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in test and R&D operations and facilities with NASA or DoD.
  • History of successfully managing schedules and budgets in an operations environment.

Benefits

  • Full-time position with competitive salary range of $118K - $150K per year.
