About the position

The Technical Support position at DTS in Detroit, MI, is designed for an experienced IT professional who will serve as a technical expert in diagnosing, implementing, administering, and maintaining computer hardware, software, and network products. The role involves providing both on-site and remote support, leading teams, and overseeing technical assignments to enhance the productivity and efficiency of computer-related processes within the agency.

Responsibilities

• Provide problem diagnosis, implementation, administration, support, and maintenance of computer hardware, software, and network products.
• Communicate effectively with users, unit staff, and managers both orally and in writing.
• Analyze operational problems and investigate alternative solutions and potential risks.
• Initiate corrective actions and record and report status.
• Teach and assist other staff and users in technical matters.
• Manage projects related to IT support and implementation.
• Provide server and telecommunications support.
• Support database systems and enforce security standards.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3+ years of IT experience.
• Minimum of 3+ years of customer service experience.
• Bachelor's degree with 21 semester credits in relevant fields such as computer science, data processing, or IT project management.
• Two years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with local database administration.
• Knowledge of virus and spyware remediation techniques.
• Familiarity with IT project management.
