About the position

The Technical Support Engineer at Rockwell Automation is responsible for providing remote support for server and storage equipment at customer sites, focusing on managed services for data centers in manufacturing facilities. This role requires technical expertise in computer environments, particularly in bridging industrial and information technology paradigms. The engineer will work collaboratively with other engineers and support various VMware products while ensuring high customer satisfaction through effective troubleshooting and problem resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Provide remote support for server and storage equipment located at customer sites.
  • Support modifying and maintaining Windows Server Operating Systems, Active Directory, and performance monitoring techniques.
  • Manage and support VMware products such as vCenter, ESXi, and HorizonView in a production environment.
  • Troubleshoot issues remotely via telephone and email for field service personnel, distributors, and customers.
  • Investigate reported product problems in software, firmware, hardware, and documentation to enhance customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, information technology, or a similar field.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2+ years' experience in a related field.
  • Proficiency in VMware programs and coding languages such as Windows Server and MS IIS.
  • Knowledge of VMware solutions and related technologies.
  • Experience with programming languages for cloud platforms: Python, Java, JavaScript, Power Shell.
  • Availability to resolve urgent VMware environment problems outside of business hours.
