About the position

The Technical Support Engineer II at Amazon Robotics plays a crucial role in enhancing system efficiencies through advanced technologies. This position involves managing complex technical projects, providing support for various operating systems, and driving root cause analysis on system issues. The ideal candidate will blend technical expertise with customer-facing skills to support the Amazon Robotic Fulfillment Systems, working cross-functionally with international teams to foster innovation and improve operational processes.

Responsibilities

  • Support and foster a culture of inclusion.
  • Manage large scale technical projects with high attention to detail.
  • Maintain and/or create policies, procedures and processes when needed.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for long term and repeatable solutions.
  • Participate in hiring, training, and development of others.
  • Manage network systems (such as DNS, DHCP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP/IP).
  • Provide support for Windows, Mac, or Linux Operating systems and ensure proactive maintenance.
  • Be responsible for on-call duties in a rotation with other team members.
  • Document known solutions in the form of knowledge base articles.
  • Demonstrate a passion for learning new technologies and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of software development or technical support experience.
  • 2+ years of managing technically complex large and small scale projects.
  • 1+ years managing and supporting Windows, Linux, and macOS operating environments.
  • Proven experience as lead technician supporting major or critical applications and systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrable problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Interpersonal and customer-facing skills, with the ability to discuss complex technical issues.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of AWS or other cloud technologies.
  • Experience with change management processes.
  • Unix/Python Shell Scripting skills.
  • Experience in a fulfillment or logistics environment.
  • Experience with hardware and solutions troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge and/or working experience with networking and Product IT management.
