About the position

We are looking for a Technical Support Engineer for a large, global B2B high-tech company. This role will be responsible for managing and resolving the most challenging issues and escalations for the customer while providing technical guidance in addressing their business needs. The successful candidate will be part of the ServiceNow Technical Support team, focusing on ServiceNow Technologies. This position is customer-facing and requires strong interpersonal skills in addition to robust technical skills. The Technical Support Engineer must be able to work outside of normal business hours, including evening and weekend shifts, as needed. This is a 12-month contract position with the possibility of extension, requiring a hybrid work schedule where the employee will be onsite 2-3 days a week. Responsibilities

  • Manage and resolve the most challenging issues for the ServiceNow Technical Support team.
  • Act as the last point of escalation within the technical support department.
  • Mentor junior team members in various technologies related to ServiceNow.
  • Quickly gain an understanding of the ServiceNow platform.
  • Provide technical guidance to customers in addressing their business needs.
  • Maintain strong interpersonal communication with customers and team members.
  • Work outside of normal business hours as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • College graduate with a Computer Science degree or equivalent.
  • More than 2 years of experience in a developer or database administrator role.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot difficult technical issues.
  • Working knowledge of the components in a web applications stack.
  • Experience writing or debugging Object Oriented code (Java preferred, other relevant technologies acceptable).
  • Experience in one or more scripting languages: JavaScript, Python, Perl, Unix Shell, Windows Shell.
  • Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Oracle).
  • Experience administering Linux/Unix or Microsoft Server.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong personal commitment to quality and customer service.
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex technical systems.
  • Proven ability to maintain a professional demeanor when handling complex user issues.
