About the position

The Technical Support Engineer (TSE) at Mustad USA is responsible for overseeing technical areas such as machine shop operations, maintenance, and projects to maximize resources and ensure full production output. The role involves utilizing data analysis, robotics, and automation to improve asset performance and support the maintenance department. The TSE is expected to demonstrate Mustad values and engage with co-workers to contribute to the quality of products and organizational success.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, evaluates, and troubleshoots tooling, equipment, and manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, and delivery while reducing manufacturing costs.
  • Utilizes data analytics, robotics, and automation tools to maintain industrial equipment in optimal condition to achieve production goals.
  • Supports supervisors and staff with technical knowledge related to project management, robotics, automation, and 3D CAD model programming.
  • Conducts and participates in design reviews for new products and process projects, supporting R&D in integrating new technologies into manufacturing.
  • Develops standardized operating instructions for upgrade processes and maintains documentation.
  • Creates reports and analyzes data to support decision-making processes.
  • Performs or assists with other duties as requested or assigned.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Process Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics).
  • 5+ years of process engineering experience in field operations, maintenance, and technical areas including TPM, RCA, Lean tools, and data analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of hot forging processes, tooling, CNC machines, and robotics.
  • 3+ years of experience working in technical maintenance areas.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and advanced technical skills.
  • Proven work experience in TPM, maintenance, robotics, and automation in industrial companies.
  • Ability to read, understand, analyze, and problem-solve mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and strong attention to detail.

  • Expertise in CNC machines, robotics programming, and hot forge tooling design.
  • Fluency in Spanish, both verbally and in writing.

Benefits

  • Hiring Bonus: $1,000 after 90 days and $1,000 after 1 year.
