About the position

The 3LS Support Engineer position involves providing technical support for PC hardware and software issues at a premier customer site in Austin, TX. The role requires troubleshooting complex cases, validating issues, and collaborating with internal teams to resolve problems. The engineer will also test solutions before communicating them to the account team and customers, ensuring effective resolution of technical challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize PC hardware and software knowledge to troubleshoot and debug complex cases.
  • Validate issues and determine root causes related to hardware, OS, and supporting software.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, typically R&D, for issue resolution.
  • Test proposed solutions to ensure correctness before submission to the account team/customer.
  • Participate in customer calls to discuss issues and provide updates on resolution status.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience with in-depth PC troubleshooting and debugging.
  • Strong PC hardware knowledge, including the ability to tear down a PC to the sub-assembly level and reassemble it.
  • Strong PC software knowledge, including Windows OS troubleshooting, driver updates, and PC imaging.
  • Experience with wireless and non-wireless connectivity on PC devices.
  • Some knowledge of Cyber Security.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience debugging HP PC devices.
  • Exposure to Python programming.
  • Familiarity with AI concepts and usage.
