About the position

The Technical Support Engineer will provide essential technical support to ensure the seamless operation of systems and infrastructure for our clients. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively while maintaining IT systems.

Responsibilities

  • Help install and configure operating systems, software, and hardware.
  • Ensure user accounts and system security settings are properly set up and maintained.
  • Assist with the setup of computer systems, printers, and other essential equipment.
  • Proactively monitor system performance and address any issues that arise.
  • Perform routine system maintenance, including updates, patches, and backups.
  • Ensure the continued reliability and availability of servers and networks.
  • Provide support to users for both hardware and software issues.
  • Manage help desk requests and offer technical solutions to problems.
  • Offer guidance and training on system usage and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of system configurations, troubleshooting steps, and user interactions.
  • Contribute to IT policy and procedure development.
  • Document technical issues for analysis and improvement.
  • Work alongside other IT professionals to resolve cross-functional issues.
  • Support IT project planning and execution as needed.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • A background in IT support or a related field, with at least 2 years of hands-on technical experience.
  • Proven customer service skills with a focus on professionalism and clear communication.
  • Familiarity with operating systems (especially Windows), common software tools, and basic networking principles.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A valid driver's license with the ability to travel within the local region.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft certifications, VMware, etc.) are a plus.
