About the position

The Systems Analyst 2 (Technical Support) position is a critical role focused on providing comprehensive technical support for laptops, desktops, and peripherals to both in-house and remote customers. This role requires the candidate to be located in the South Georgia area, specifically around Savannah, Hinesville, Brunswick, Statesboro, Hilton Head, and Beaufort. The position is a contract role lasting for 09 months, and candidates must be willing to work on-site in their assigned coverage area. The primary responsibilities include imaging, deployment, and technical support, ensuring that all configurations comply with IT policies and standards. In this role, the Systems Analyst will be responsible for configuring and supporting desktop applications, performing data backup and restoration, and addressing hardware issues. The candidate will provide onsite desktop support, troubleshoot end-user workstation and peripheral problems, and effectively diagnose and resolve issues both remotely and in person. It is essential that the analyst ensures that end-user applications and equipment function as expected and adhere to all applicable policies, procedures, and rules. Additionally, the role involves installing and supporting network devices that provide critical business services, performing end-user data backup and recovery with meticulous attention to detail, and processing surplus equipment according to established procedures, including proper sanitization of electronic equipment up to and including disk wiping to DoD standards. The analyst will also be responsible for opening, documenting, and tracking problem tickets, escalating issues to appropriate workgroups when necessary, and coordinating with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop hardware and software. Special project support, including the setup, breakdown, and relocation of computer equipment and peripherals, is also a key aspect of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Imaging, deployment, and technical support of laptops, desktops, and peripherals to in-house and remote customers.
  • Configure and support desktop applications, ensuring compliance with IT policies.
  • Perform data backup and restoration, ensuring attention to detail.
  • Provide onsite desktop support for customers located within assigned locations.
  • Troubleshoot end-user workstation and peripheral problems, diagnosing and resolving issues remotely and in person.
  • Ensure that end-user applications and equipment continue to work as expected and comply with applicable policies and procedures.
  • Install and support network devices providing business-critical services.
  • Process surplus equipment according to established procedures, including proper sanitization of electronic equipment up to DoD standards.
  • Open, document, and track problem tickets, escalating to appropriate workgroups when required.
  • Coordinate with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop hardware and software.
  • Provide special project support including setup, breakdown, and relocation of computer equipment and peripherals.

Requirements

  • A+ Certification or Network+ Certification is required (must upload certification).
  • Experience in providing technical support for desktop and laptop systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for end-user workstation and peripheral problems.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues both remotely and in person.
  • Knowledge of IT policies and procedures related to desktop support and configuration.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with imaging and deployment of desktop systems.
  • Familiarity with network device installation and support.
