About the position

As a Technical Support Engineering Intern at Verkada, you will be immersed in a dynamic and innovative environment focused on cloud-managed IoT technology. This internship, based in our San Mateo headquarters, offers a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced Technical Support Engineers, tackling real-world challenges faced by our enterprise customers. You will be involved in troubleshooting various issues related to the Verkada platform, which includes network, hardware, and software components. Your role will require you to provide best practice design and integration expertise, ensuring that our customers can effectively utilize our products to enhance their security and operational efficiency. In this position, you will communicate complex technical matters to customers, both orally and in writing, ensuring clarity and understanding. You will take ownership of customer issues from their inception to resolution, collaborating closely with Engineering and Product teams to test new products and identify any bugs that may arise. Additionally, you will contribute to our Knowledge Base, helping to create valuable resources for both customers and team members. The internship will also involve lab testing and participation in team projects, providing a comprehensive learning experience in a highly technical environment. This role is designed for third or fourth-year college students who are eager to make an impact while developing valuable career skills. Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot network, hardware, and software issues related to the Verkada platform
  • Provide best practice design and integration expertise to enterprise customers
  • Communicate technical matters to customers both orally and in writing
  • Own customer issues from creation to resolution
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to test new products and identify bugs
  • Contribute content to our Knowledge Base
  • Participate in lab testing and team projects

Requirements

  • Available for a full-time (40 hours per week) in-person internship from September - December 2024 in San Mateo, CA
  • Third or Fourth year college student enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in a related technical discipline: Networking, Telecommunications, Systems Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Cybersecurity from an accredited university
  • Coursework with a focus on computer networking, Linux, or computer systems
  • Ability to communicate complex technical matters both orally and in writing
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Industry certifications are a plus: CCNP, CCNA, CCENT, CCDA, CWNP, CWNA, MCSE, CEH, Network+, Security+, A+
