About the position

Broadbent & Associates, Inc. is seeking a full-time Technical Support Specialist to provide essential onsite and remote IT technical support to our employees. This entry-level position is based in Reno, Nevada, and offers a competitive salary that varies based on experience. The role is crucial in ensuring that our employees' computers, phones, and peripheral devices are operational and functioning effectively. The Technical Support Specialist will work under the supervision of the IT Manager and will be responsible for responding to email support requests, providing remote support using tools like Splashtop and LogMeIn, and communicating with employees through email, Microsoft Teams, and phone calls. In this role, you will install software on Windows 10/11 computers, upgrade applications as necessary, and maintain asset lists of IT-related equipment. You will also be tasked with installing Windows 11 and required applications on new computers, upgrading Windows 10 systems, and installing RAM and SSDs in laptops as needed. Troubleshooting various issues such as internet connectivity, VPN, printer, monitor, and peripheral problems will be a significant part of your daily responsibilities. Additionally, you will manage user accounts in Active Directory/Microsoft 365 and provide basic support for iOS and Android devices related to accessing Broadbent email. The ideal candidate will possess strong personal skills, as regular interaction with employees and clients is expected. While the position is technical in nature, the hiring process will emphasize your problem-solving abilities rather than rote memorization of certification test answers. We are looking for someone who can quickly identify the root cause of issues and resolve them efficiently. Responsibilities

  • Respond to email support requests

Requirements

  • A+/Network+ certifications (or comparable work experience)
  • Ability to travel (less than 5%) within the western US if needed
