About the position

The Technical Support Specialist is responsible for delivering technical assistance to clients, focusing on cloud-based desktops, local computer systems, and mobile devices. This role involves resolving technical issues through various communication methods, including in-person, telephone, and remote support. The position requires a hybrid work model, with 50% of the time spent working from home and the remainder involving travel to client locations. The specialist will assist with hardware and software issues, network troubleshooting, and ensuring client satisfaction through effective problem resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance to clients for cloud-based desktops, local computer systems, and mobile devices.
  • Resolve technical problems for clients in person, via telephone, or remotely.
  • Assist with server-based troubleshooting, network issues, and local network security.
  • Conduct work activities and resolve support needs using a computer tracking system (Autotask Service Desk).
  • Identify client training needs and provide necessary support and training.
  • Travel locally and nationwide to support clients as needed.
  • Research, resolve, and respond to customer issues and inquiries according to standards and procedures.
  • Work with hardware and software vendors for installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Provide floor support for all client-approved applications and conduct software/hardware installations.
  • Maintain documentation of user accounts, network issues, and network structure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical area or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office, focusing on user experience and automation.
  • Knowledge of Exchange and Office 365 Administration.
  • Extensive experience with Windows desktop operating systems and server operating systems.
  • Knowledge of computer security best practices and virus/spam remediation.
  • Experience with handheld devices and mobile technology platforms.
