About The Position

The Technical Support Specialist at Bechtel Corporation will lead the development of automation tools and workflows for the Hanford Vit Plant project. This role involves customizing applications, managing data outputs, and ensuring compliance with engineering processes. The position requires a blend of technical expertise and collaboration with various departments to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
  • Ability to work on problems of diverse scope requiring analysis of various factors.
  • Demonstrates judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Ability to network and connect with internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.
  • Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check.
  • Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site.
  • Must possess the right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes and administers select engineering applications on the project, including OpenPlant and SmartPlant tools.
  • Coordinates with construction, procurement, project controls, and other departments to establish automated data transfer between applications.
  • Understands reporting requirements for each application and configures reports accordingly.
  • Collates performance curves, metrics, trackers, and user feedback to show trends and use in improvements.
  • Reviews output data and prepares engineering reports with direction from Engineering Group Supervisors and Project Engineering Manager.
  • Provides training and technical support of the suite of Engineering Automation applications to site personnel.
  • Evaluates and coordinates the implementation of new automation modules and tools, testing and supporting data integration of new software releases.
  • Customizes applications as required by the project.
  • Prepares user guides and training material and delivers training.
  • Recommends adjustments in coordination with the Engineering Group Supervisors and Project Engineering Manager.
