About the position
The position is responsible for the technical and scientific oversight of laboratory testing, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accrediting standards. The role involves managing quality control, evaluating staff competencies, and participating in performance improvement activities within a 24/7 laboratory environment.
Responsibilities
- Ensures compliance with technical requirements mandated by regulatory and accrediting agencies.
- Verifies test procedures and enrolls in approved proficiency testing programs.
- Resolves technical problems and ensures accurate reporting of results.
- Performs and manages quality control testing to monitor instrument operation.
- Updates policies and procedure manuals and monitors staff compliance.
- Participates in regional meetings to enhance testing quality and standardization.
- Performs routine and stat analysis to provide timely results.
- May perform special analysis and specimen processing as needed.
- Assists leadership on medium to high complexity projects.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Requirements
- Must hold ASCP certification and meet educational and experience requirements.
- Associate's degree or equivalent years of experience and education.
- Three years' technical experience in a laboratory setting.
