About the position

The Technical Trainer at ABB is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering technical training programs for ABB and Channel Partner service personnel globally. This role ensures that participants are well-prepared in product knowledge and skills necessary for commissioning, servicing, and maintaining Power Protection systems. The position emphasizes excellent customer service and high levels of customer satisfaction through effective training delivery.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and delivering training courses in classroom, online, or on-site and following up on pre and post training activities.
• Designing and developing lesson plans and course material for various training formats and advising on updates needed in e-learning material.
• Creating and updating course descriptions and training programs based on feedback and implementing corrective actions for continuous improvement.
• Supporting Training Coordinators in making course arrangements and addressing course inquiries.
• Assisting Field Service and other teams/units with expertise when necessary.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or military experience.
• 3+ years' experience in the power protection field, with roles in Training, Service, R&D, and/or Sales.
• Hands-on experience with power protection equipment is desirable.
• Further education in adult teaching is preferred.
• Ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in service operations, training, engineering, testing, or power quality with electrical/electronic accomplishments.
• Familiarity with methodologies for facilitating adult learning.
