About The Position

The Technical Training Specialist at Abbott's Altavista Distribution Center is responsible for coordinating and managing training programs related to safety, GMP, and technical procedures. This role ensures that all training is consistent and compliant, while also developing and updating training materials for new and existing employees. The position plays a crucial role in supporting the technical training needs of the department and contributes to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the training processes within the organization.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Minimum two years in a manufacturing environment or two years of training experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Science, Food Technology, Education and Development, or Human Resources.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with knowledge of manufacturing principles and training techniques.
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others.
  • Problem-solving skills to determine root causes and develop plans.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate training on Safety, GMP, technical and procedural training on new equipment and updated processes.
  • Ensure consistency of technical training across the site.
  • Manage the Learning Management System (LMS) for assigned team members, including generating reports and maintaining compliance.
  • Develop, update, and track on-the-job technical training for new department personnel.
  • Monitor and track department training activities.
  • Maintain close liaison with supported areas and other plant departments.
  • Write, issue, and update job aids and training documents.
  • Assist in the development and facilitation of departmental training.
  • Update curriculum or course materials as needed.
  • Provide support to Technical Trainers and develop improved training content.
  • Serve as a training resource on projects and process/equipment implementation.
  • Stay updated with current training authoring software and delivery technology.
