About the position

The Technical Training Specialist at Swagelok Louisiana is responsible for managing and delivering training programs primarily focused on the Oil & Gas industry. This hybrid role involves both office and fieldwork, where the specialist will develop new training content, support the sales team, and ensure internal staff are equipped with necessary technical knowledge. The position aims to address the growing need for training in fluid system applications and enhance customer engagement through effective training delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full portfolio of training offerings for customers, focusing on the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Develop new training content to meet the evolving needs of the sectors served.
  • Support the sales team by integrating training programs into customer workflows.
  • Oversee internal technical training for staff to ensure they have the required knowledge and skills.
  • Deliver instruction on current and newly developed courses, including product installation practices.
  • Provide hands-on inspection services to customers in the field.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of training services by reviewing and enhancing training materials.
  • Liaise with Swagelok Corporate to enhance current offerings and develop new courses.
  • Administer training programs and manage associated paperwork.
  • Set up classrooms and manage training materials and tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university preferred; Associate's degree in engineering or related technical field accepted.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a training capacity, preferably in fluid control systems or a similar industrial industry.
  • Familiarity with pressure, level, temperature, flow, and fluid dynamics is a plus.
  • Background in refinery, chemical, oil & gas, or manufacturing operations.
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and communicate them effectively.
  • Practical technology aptitude to understand industry products and applications.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and internally.
  • Strong skills in MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work with common hand tools and specialized tools after training.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in tubing and fluid system applications, specifically instrumentation.
  • Occupational experience working with instrumentation, valves, and tube fittings.
  • Professional training qualification.
