About the position

The Technical Writer 3 position is a contract role focused on creating and managing high-quality technical documentation for Firefly Services, which includes Generative AI APIs and creative workflow APIs. The role involves driving documentation strategy, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring that documentation meets the needs of the developer community while adhering to company standards and voice.

Responsibilities

• Drive documentation strategy and information architecture for Firefly Services.
• Define documentation standards and process improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure comprehensive and accurate documentation.
• Review technical content created by product service engineering and technical teams.
• Create, edit, and review Code Samples and Project Templates with product teams.
• Optimize documentation for search and discoverability.
• Manage the documentation release process and content updates.
• Handle pull requests from the community to keep documentation up-to-date.
• Identify and operationalize documentation optimization areas using new technologies.

Requirements

• 6 - 9 years of experience in technical writing.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology preferred.
• Experience detailing APIs and Web technologies.
• Familiarity with modern content guidelines and documentation release processes.
• Proficient in HTML/CSS/Markdown language.
• Experience with git and GitHub.
• Basic understanding of JavaScript and Web concepts.

• Experience with OpenAPI and related tools.
