About the position

The Technical Writer in the Cloud Enablement Team (CET) at Stifel Financial Corp. will play a crucial role in creating, editing, and maintaining technical documentation for various cloud services and solutions. This position requires a collaborative approach, as the Technical Writer will work closely with engineers, architects, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand the technical requirements and best practices necessary for cloud customers. The primary goal is to produce clear, concise, and accurate content that assists customers in achieving their cloud objectives. In this role, the Technical Writer will be responsible for writing, reviewing, and updating a variety of technical documents, including user guides, tutorials, reference manuals, FAQs, and whitepapers. It is essential that the documentation is consistent, accurate, and adheres to the established cloud style guide and standards. The Technical Writer will also collaborate with the CET team and other subject matter experts to gather feedback and incorporate it into the documentation, ensuring that the content remains relevant and useful. Additionally, the Technical Writer will utilize various tools and platforms, such as Markdown, Git, and HTML, to create, publish, and manage the documentation effectively. Staying informed about new cloud technologies and features is vital, as the Technical Writer will need to research and learn about the latest developments and trends in the cloud industry to keep the documentation up to date.

Responsibilities

  • Write, review, and update technical documentation for cloud services and solutions, including user guides, tutorials, reference manuals, FAQs, and whitepapers.
  • Ensure that the documentation is consistent, accurate, and adheres to the cloud style guide and standards.
  • Collaborate with the CET team and other subject matter experts to gather feedback and incorporate it into the documentation.
  • Use various tools and platforms to create, publish, and manage the documentation, such as Markdown, Git, and HTML.
  • Research and learn new cloud technologies and features and keep up to date with the latest developments and trends in the cloud industry.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technical Communication, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Technical Writer in the IT or Cloud domain.
  • Strong technical background and knowledge of cloud services and solutions, such as EC2, S3, Lambda, Cloud Formation, etc.
  • Experience with agile methodologies and tools, such as Scrum and Jira.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and quality.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with AWS or other cloud technologies is a plus.
