About the position

The Technical Writer for Distribution Services and Supply Chain at SoClean, Inc. is responsible for creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation related to warehouse services and supply chain management. This includes developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions, and various forms necessary for efficient operations. The role requires a keen ability to identify and analyze business requirements, ensuring that documentation aligns with the operational needs of the warehouse. The Technical Writer will collaborate with team members to clarify business needs and project scope, confirming dependencies and implications related to product or Bill of Materials (BOM) relationships. In addition to documentation responsibilities, the Technical Writer will also engage in process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing team efficiency. This involves recognizing outdated or ineffective procedures and implementing necessary changes. The position is dynamic, as the Technical Writer will also perform various distribution center duties as assigned by the Warehouse Operations Manager. These duties may include project area assemblies, product testing, returns processing, and managing inbound and outbound shipping and order fulfillment. The role may also involve training personnel and overseeing specific project tasks as defined in work instructions. Physical requirements for this position include the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and the capacity to stand for extended periods. Proper use of personal protective gear is mandatory while working in the Distribution Center. The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for candidates who have at least three years of warehouse experience. Strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain documentation for Distribution/Warehouse Services and Supply Chain Management, including SOPs, Work Instructions, and Forms.
  • Identify, collaborate, and initiate new or update existing warehouse processes and procedures.
  • Clarify business needs and project scope to confirm dependencies, implications, and associated product relationships.
  • Analyze business requirements to determine the best options for effective and efficient warehouse procedures and guidelines.
  • Implement process improvement initiatives and changes to outdated or ineffective procedures.
  • Perform various distribution center duties as assigned by the Warehouse Operations Manager, including project area assemblies, product testing, returns processing, inbound/outbound shipping, and order fulfillment.
  • Train appropriate personnel and initiate and close projects.
  • Review and approve tasks associated with specific projects performed by Warehouse Product Technicians.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • 3+ years of prior Warehouse Experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time management and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Some experience with Microsoft SharePoint, Asana, and Oracle NetSuite preferred.
