About the position

MTSI is seeking a Senior Technical Editor/Writer to support its business development and marketing teams. This role involves leveraging generative AI to enhance content generation for proposals and marketing materials, ensuring compliance with requirements, and collaborating with subject matter experts to produce high-quality documents. The position is based in Alexandria, VA, and offers a flexible work schedule and a strong emphasis on employee ownership and benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Apply knowledge of generative AI to recommend and utilize capabilities for business development and marketing content generation.
  • Lead the drafting and final input of technical, management, past performance, or personnel sections of proposals, collaborating with subject matter experts.
  • Interview SMEs to develop a marketing repository of collateral that is accessible and reusable for customer engagements.
  • Create new text and tailor existing information to meet business development and marketing requirements.
  • Review and edit proposal sections and volumes, ensuring compliance with proposal requirements and schedules.
  • Oversee and mentor junior writers and editors, allocating writing assignments among team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Communications, Journalism, English, or a comparable area.
  • At least 5 years of related technical and proposal writing/editing experience.
  • Outstanding writing and editing skills, specifically focused on Government proposals.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Experience with MS Office and generative AI tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in proposal writing for government contracts.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using generative AI for content creation.
