About the position

The Technical Writer for Operational Work Instructions - Specialty Cleaning Services & Industrial Services at Syntricate Technology is a critical role that involves managing the documentation and procedural aspects of the Quala Rail and Specialty Division's environmental and industrial projects. This position requires a deep understanding of chemical cleaning processes, as well as the ability to write clear and effective operational work instructions. The Technical Writer will work closely with the Environmental Team to address air, water, and waste issues, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards. This role is primarily on-site, necessitating active collaboration with cleaning technicians and oversight of safety procedures, including confined space entry and fall protection. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in writing and implementing chemical cleaning procedures, as well as experience in coordinating with various teams, including Chemistry, Rail Specialty, and Industrial Specialty engineers. The Technical Writer will be responsible for ensuring that cleaning procedures are practical and applicable at specialty bays and rail racks, and will also coordinate with EHS to maintain project standards in line with regulatory guidelines. This position requires a proactive approach to understanding customer requirements and adapting procedures accordingly, making it essential for the candidate to possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, implement, and/or change cleaning procedures in conjunction with the Chemistry team for maximum safety and environmental performance.
  • Ensure that cleaning procedures are practical and applicable at the specialty bays and rail racks.
  • Coordinate with Rail Specialty & Industrial Specialty engineers and other operational supervisors to develop operational work instructions.
  • Work with EHS to maintain project standards as per guidelines set by regulatory authorities.
  • Collaborate with environmental regulatory authorities to obtain updated environmental compliance guidelines and ensure project responsibilities are met.
  • Stay informed about specific requirements that customers may need.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in industrial engineering or a related scientific/technical field.
  • Ability to understand, write, and implement chemical cleaning procedures.
  • Working knowledge of environmental laws and legislation.
  • Creativity and innovation to devise new approaches for solving complex industrial cleaning and disposal issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively work with all levels within the company.
  • Comfortable using multiple types of software including Gmail, Google Suite, and Microsoft Suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint (1 year preferred).

Benefits

  • Contract position with pay ranging from $24.00 to $30.00 per hour.
