About the position

The Technical Writer position at Element U.S. Space & Defense is an entry-level role focused on producing high-quality technical documentation. The writer will collaborate with engineers and technicians to create manuals, papers, and presentations, ensuring clarity and accuracy in technical communication.

Responsibilities

• Produce quality technical documentation from basic input provided by engineers and technicians.
• Setup and maintain a technical library of reports, manuals, technical papers, and project correspondence.
• Prepare test reports, certificates, and test procedures.
• Interpret technical instructions and log sheets, maintaining a log of reports and updating management on project status as needed.
• Research background material to support engineering decisions.
• Maintain and update project management reports and schedules to support program managers.

Requirements

• Associates in Business Management or Bachelor's degree in English.
• Minimum 1 year experience with editing and writing papers or documents or as a Technical Writer preferred.
• Basic understanding of technical language and familiarity with QA testing desirable.
• Ability to apply company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
