About the position

The Technical Writer II position is a temporary role within the Mechatronics & Sustainable Packaging Customer Experience organization. The primary focus is to create technical documentation and learning solutions for users of automated and robotics technologies. This role emphasizes customer needs and aims to enhance the deployment and performance of new technologies, ensuring they are user-friendly and effective throughout their lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and project stakeholders to identify learning objectives and performance goals.
  • Conduct needs analysis and learning assessments to identify performance gaps and recommend learning solutions.
  • Design and develop learning solutions, including technical documentation, job-aids, reference materials, e-learning courses, instructor-led training materials, videos, simulations, and other interactive content.
  • Design and develop skills-based learning programs that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Apply instructional design principles to create engaging and interactive learning experiences.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of solutions through assessments, feedback, and metrics, and make necessary adjustments for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure learning solutions are aligned with the overall learning strategy and business objectives.
  • Develop and manage project timelines to ensure timely and successful delivery of learning solutions.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and effectiveness of learning materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with Graphics/Photo imaging/Video software (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, Visio, etc.), Articulate 360, Microsoft SharePoint, etc. with prior experience in using Learning Management Systems is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design models.
  • Experience in evaluating the effectiveness of learning solutions and making data-driven improvements.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality learning solutions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Instructional Design, Education Technology, or similar field.
  • Experience with Xyleme (LCMS).
  • Industry certifications in instructional design, curriculum development, performance improvement, project management, and content-specific certifications.
  • Able to write effective instructional texts and scripts.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a professional and cordial manner through oral, written, and visual communications with others at all levels in the company.
