About the position

We are seeking a skilled technical writer to join our team in the medical device manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in creating, updating, and managing documentation. In this role, you will work closely with engineers, managers, and other stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and consistency of software documentation. This position involves both daily and long-term responsibilities, including maintaining information architecture templates and expanding our team's knowledge base website. Your primary objectives will include reviewing, copyediting, and updating documents using standardized templates, managing change processes for software documentation to ensure it remains current and accurate, and tracking and reporting on multiple projects while maintaining detailed documentation. You will collaborate with engineers, managers, and authors to prepare and review feedback, develop and maintain the team's knowledge base website, and assist in creating and managing a style guide and team workflows. Daily and monthly responsibilities will involve researching, creating, and maintaining information architecture templates to facilitate data migration, developing documentation content for maximum usability while ensuring consistency in voice and style, coordinating, scheduling, and reporting on technical reviews to ensure thorough evaluations, and maintaining organized and accessible document libraries.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 2-4 years of industry experience as an effective technical writer.
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certificate in Technical Writing from STC or a recognized university.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Understanding of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience in database management.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, Confluence, JIRA, or similar document libraries and issue tracking systems.
