About the position

The Technical Writer III position is focused on creating and managing documentation for the ASE Documentation team within Client Service Engineering. This role involves producing various types of content, including user documentation, systems architectures, API documentation, and UX writing, aimed at supporting engineering, QA, UI design, customer support, and external developers.

Responsibilities

  • Create task-oriented user documentation for engineering and related teams.
  • Develop systems architectures and API documentation.
  • Produce UX writing to enhance user experience.
  • Collaborate effectively with subject matter experts and peers on documentation projects.
  • Quickly understand and document complex software and related tools.
  • Plan and manage documentation projects with shifting requirements and goals.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree in English, Communication, Computer Science, Engineering, Technical Writing, or a related field.
  • More than three years of technical writing experience documenting complex applications, or a degree in Technical Communication.
  • Experience with Markdown and GitHub.
  • Familiarity with macOS and standard macOS software.
  • Ability to edit the work of other writers.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with iOS development and documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience in maintenance and proposals.
