About the position

The Technical Writer Intern position at Oracle is designed for current students pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree, aimed at enhancing their learning experience while contributing to the Database Technologies organization. Interns will work collaboratively within the Oracle Database Developer Relations Team, focusing on creating technical content and engaging with developers through various channels. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a global technology company, fostering skills in communication, technology, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating technical content, demos, applications, and videos for Oracle Database products.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop engaging materials for developer conferences and virtual events.
  • Support the management of websites and authority pages related to Database technologies.
  • Participate in building developer-focused programs to facilitate the use of Database products.
  • Engage with universities and coding bootcamps to promote Oracle Database.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Business, English, Technical Writing, Rhetoric and Professional Writing or equivalent major.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
  • Working knowledge of common technologies such as relational databases, Java, and frameworks like React.
  • Experience with SQL or Oracle Database preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and eagerness to learn from and teach others.
  • Must be returning to the degree program after completion of the internship.
