About the position

The Technical Writer - Process Controls role is a long-term contract-to-hire opportunity within a global automotive manufacturing company. The position involves collaborating with process owners to document existing processes, develop quality standards, and create standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure operational sustainability. The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to analyze and improve processes.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with process owners to understand existing processes and document them accurately.
  • Develop quality standards, SOPs, and work instructions that meet internal requirements and best practices.
  • Identify gaps in current documentation and engage with process owners to address them.
  • Interact with stakeholders outside the business unit to ensure process alignment and integration.
  • Create guidance documents and templates for standardizing quality standards and operating procedures.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in process documentation and quality management.
  • Strong understanding of process mapping and documentation standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with diverse teams.
  • Ability to critically analyze processes and identify areas for improvement.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications such as Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Certified Process Professional (CPP), or Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
