About the position

The Technical Writer is responsible for creating and refining a variety of technical documents and training materials that support Organizational Transformation and Leadership Development processes. This role involves collaborating closely with subject matter experts to gather and document essential information, ensuring that all materials are accurate, clear, and accessible to both internal and external stakeholders. The Technical Writer will coordinate the visual presentation of documents, including the integration of graphics, and will be tasked with the preparation, review, revision, and maintenance of a wide range of technical documents. These documents may include Meeting Minutes, Project Schedules, Requirements, System Design Documents, Testing and Evaluation Master Plans, Implementation Plans, Operational Readiness Reviews, Post Implementation Reviews, Standard Operating Procedures, and various Training materials. In addition to writing and editing, the Technical Writer will analyze developments within the field to identify the need for updates to existing materials and the creation of new content. This may involve drawing sketches to illustrate complex processes or assembly sequences. The role requires direct collaboration with Subject Matter Experts, Instructional Systems Designers, and Project Managers to ensure that all documentation meets the highest standards of quality and relevance. The position is remote, but candidates must be U.S. citizens and clearable for security purposes. The ideal candidate will possess strong professional, interpersonal, and organizational skills, demonstrating the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, mission-oriented environment. They should be well-organized, self-directed, and capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams. Excellent communication skills are essential, as the Technical Writer will need to relate to individuals at all levels of the organization and present information clearly and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Write and edit technical documentation and training materials.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to document information related to Organizational Transformation and Leadership Development processes.
  • Coordinate the display of graphics and the production of documents.
  • Prepare, review, revise, and maintain various technical documents including Meeting Minutes, Project Schedules, and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Analyze developments in the field to determine the need for revisions in previously published materials and the development of new material.
  • Draw sketches to illustrate specified materials or assembly sequences.
  • Work directly with Subject Matter Experts, Instructional Systems Designers, and Project Managers.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree required.
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience as a Technical Writer.
  • Strong professional, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated cross-functional team collaboration skills in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Demonstrated technical writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to relate to people at all levels of an organization and possess excellent communication skills.
