About the position

The Developer Documentation Writer at Salesforce will create content that assists developers in building and extending the Data Cloud. This role involves collaborating with content strategists, product managers, and engineering stakeholders to understand developer needs and deliver high-quality documentation. The position is hybrid, requiring in-office presence at least 10 times per quarter in San Francisco, Seattle, or Bellevue.

Responsibilities

• Create developer documentation for Data Cloud to assist developers in building and extending the platform.
• Collaborate with content strategists, product managers, and engineering stakeholders to understand developer needs.
• Deliver high-quality content within tight deadlines.
• Develop innovative documentation strategies for cross-cloud products and solutions.
• Act as a strong customer advocate.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional writing experience with a focus on developer documentation.
• Excellent writing skills, capable of explaining complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to give and receive feedback.
• Growth mindset, flexible and open to changing priorities and assignments.
• Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers and product managers.
• Experience in a fast-paced environment and ability to deliver high-quality content under tight deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with source control software such as Perforce or Git.
• Familiarity with XML-based authoring tools such as Oxygen DITA and structured authoring.
• Knowledge of the Salesforce Agile development process.
