About the position

The Technical Writer at Saliense will focus on providing quality control and assurance for technical security documentation, particularly in the cybersecurity domain. This role involves executing data entry, developing project plans, and generating reports while collaborating with a team of technical writers and software development teams. The position requires a strong background in technical writing, especially related to system security assessments and NIST SP 800-53 controls.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise related to quality control and quality assurance review and provide technical security documentation.
  • Execute data entry into databases and applications, develop and maintain complex schedules and project plans, and generate relevant reports.
  • Plan, write, edit, and revise technical information and documents, including user manuals, general overviews, configuration/installation instructions, tutorials, test plans, and product specifications.
  • Collaborate with the team of technical writers and facilitate product and software development teams.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical writing and related tasks.
  • US Citizenship Required - Must have or be eligible to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Products.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment with attention to detail.
  • Experience with technical writing and documentation concepts and standards (e.g., accessibility standards).
  • Knowledge of RMF and applying the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.

  • Experience in the cybersecurity space.
  • Ability to transform complex documentation into simple concepts that are easy to understand by end-users.
  • Experience evaluating user feedback to enhance documentation usability.
