About the position

The Technical Writer position in Transportation Engineering focuses on drafting, maintaining, and facilitating technical documents related to the Technical Solutions and New Coach Delivery groups. The role requires collaboration with engineers and product designers to translate complex technical information into clear documentation, ensuring alignment with customer needs and market presentation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, product designers, and service personnel to gather technical information and understand product features.
• Compose and maintain service documents for PDI, Service, and Product Development, including Work Instructions, Technical Specifications, Parts Manuals, Wiring Diagrams, Validation Reports, and White Papers.
• Create illustrations, diagrams, and technical visuals to enhance understanding of technical materials.
• Perform routine revisions to service documents and facilitate reviews of OEM service documents.
• Conduct data acquisition tests and document data for peer review.
• Work closely with marketing and sales teams to ensure technical content aligns with customer needs.
• Compose and maintain report formats for process standardization, such as technical project requests and change requests.
• Maintain a repository of all documents.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or associate degree in Engineering, Technical Writing, Communications, or a related field, or a combination of experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Working knowledge of current automated business systems, preferably Office Suite.
• Electrical and mechanical aptitude is a plus.
