About the position

The Technical Writer II position at Fidelis Technologies involves contributing to the development and documentation of systems engineering processes and requirements. The role is integral to ensuring that production systems align with defined architectures and meet stakeholder needs. The position offers opportunities for telework and is part of a collaborative team focused on impactful projects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems compatible with defined system architectures.
  • Contribute to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans and Requirements specifications.
  • Assist with the development of system requirements and allocation to hardware, software, and personnel components.
  • Coordinate the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board meetings and design reviews.
  • Participate in an Integrated Product Team to design new capabilities based on operational considerations.
  • Allocate real-time process budgets and error budgets to systems and subsystems.
  • Generate alternative system concepts and design solutions.
  • Define methods and evaluation criteria for verifying systems against requirements.
  • Develop system design solutions that satisfy system requirements and fulfill functional analysis.
  • Review and provide input to program and contract work breakdown structures and integrated master plans.
  • Participate in interface definition and changes to configuration throughout the lifecycle.
  • Derive lower-level requirements from higher-level allocated requirements ensuring completeness and verifiability.
  • Establish and gain approval of definitions for systems or components under development.
  • Develop derived requirements for Information Assurance Services and Security Mechanism Technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Seven years of experience as a Systems Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts.
