About the position

The Technical Writer V position involves collaborating with a cross-functional team to create and refine hardware industry standard specifications. The role is fully remote and requires the candidate to work during PST hours. This is an opportunity to contribute to public-facing documentation and engage with engineers from various technology companies, particularly in preparation for future product releases.

Responsibilities

• Edit and re-write existing standards documents for brevity and clarity
• Attend regular meetings with SMEs
• Initiate and conduct document reviews for accuracy and adherence to style guides
• Manage deliverables and deadlines

Requirements

• BS/MS in engineering (electronics or CS) with at least 10 years of work experience
• Proficiency with English grammar and punctuation
• Strong writing skills
• Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and self-driven
• Ability to work with tight deadlines and to manage workload efficiently
• Extensive experience with MSWord and applying Industry style guides

Nice-to-haves

• Experience writing for public standards and regulatory bodies
• Design experience with hardware interfaces
