About the position

The Technical Writer position at Integrated Security Solutions, Inc. involves creating and maintaining various company documents and forms across all departments. This role supports the Data Department by developing, proofreading, and constructing proposal documents, ensuring that technical materials are accurately written and presented for the intended audience.

Responsibilities

• Writes and/or edits technical materials such as reports, regulations, manuals, specifications, or scripts.
• Provides written and oral reports, abstracts, summaries, charts, graphs, and formal correspondence.
• Develops information and analysis to present specialized subjects in suitable formats.
• Edits portions of studies and assists in the development and presentation of information.
• Analyzes changes to projects and prepares reports for review.
• Creates accurate and comprehensive technical documentation.
• Prepares and assembles End User documentation.
• Provides corporate website support, including file uploads and minor HTML edits.
• Maintains the corporate FTP site, managing user access and file structure.
• Maintains government contracts using an automated database program.
• Exports, designs, and edits access control database reports.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Builds partnerships with customers by demonstrating expertise and professionalism.
• Works as part of a team to contribute to company goals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred in English, technical communication, or professional writing.
• 2 years of experience in technical writing preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat Pro, and database programs.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with electronic communication equipment such as personal computers, scanners, and multi-line phones.
