About the position

Parsons Corporation is seeking a Technical Writer to support the United States Marine Corps in developing advanced Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) capabilities. The role involves advising management and overseeing the creation and publication of various technical documents, ensuring they meet quality and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop, write, and edit technical documentation, including user manuals, installation guides, system specifications, briefings, and training materials.
• Work closely with engineers, developers, and project managers to gather information and ensure the accuracy of documentation.
• Maintain and update existing documentation to reflect changes in products, processes, and standards.
• Ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and adheres to editorial and government specifications.
• Ensure all documentation is user-friendly and meets the needs of the intended audience.
• Conduct research to understand complex technical concepts and translate them into clear, concise documentation.
• Utilize various documentation tools and software to create and manage technical content.
• Ensure all documentation complies with relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Perform other writing duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Active DoD Secret clearance
• 3-5 years overall experience and Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 4 years of demonstrated experience in technical writing, reviewing, and/or editing of technical documentation in business, government, or industry
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills
• Demonstrated formal editing experience
• Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to various audiences
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
