About the position

As a Technical Writer at Reynolds and Reynolds, you will be an integral part of the Documentation department, focusing on the development of hardcopy manuals and online reference materials for the software products offered by the company and its affiliates. This role involves conducting product testing prior to documenting any new changes, allowing you to ensure that the information provided is accurate and up-to-date. You will have the opportunity to suggest improvements to existing software, contributing to the overall enhancement of the user experience. In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will be tasked with contributing topics for monthly publications that highlight new features released to customers. This will require you to engage with customers directly to gather information, particularly when there are requests for products or services that are not currently offered. Furthermore, you will be responsible for maintaining the 'help messages' within the software, ensuring that they are current and helpful for users. This includes writing clear instructions for these help messages and testing them to verify their accuracy and effectiveness. This position is based in Houston, TX, and does not require any travel, allowing you to focus on your work without the need for frequent trips. The role demands strong attention to detail, excellent spelling, proofreading, grammar, and editing skills, as well as the ability to meet deadlines and stay organized. Being bilingual in Spanish is considered a plus, although it is not a requirement for the position.
