About the position

The Technical Writer at CACI is responsible for developing, editing, and formatting a variety of technical documentation to support government contracting and program management. This role requires strong writing and editing skills, as well as a solid understanding of government contracting principles. The successful candidate will work closely with program managers and subject matter experts to ensure the accuracy and quality of technical reports, presentations, and other documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and edit technical reports, including performance reports, status reports, and other written deliverables
  • Create and edit slide decks, including program updates, progress reports, and other visual presentations
  • Conduct research and interviews to gather information for reports and presentations
  • Write and edit technical content, including complex program information and data analysis
  • Collaborate with program managers and subject matter experts to ensure accurate and up-to-date information
  • Develop and maintain documentation templates and styles to ensure consistency across programs
  • Participate in review and testing of reports and presentations to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Develop and deliver training to end-users on the use of our reports and presentations
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in technical writing and government contracting

Requirements

  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • 8 years of Technical Writing Experience with focus on government contracting and program management (5 years of experience with Bachelor's)
  • Strong understanding of government contracting principles, including IAC MAC, SeaPort, GSA, and OTA contract vehicles
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with documentation tools, such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and other writing and editing software

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field
  • Experience with contract management software, such as Deltek or MS Project
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and iterative documentation processes
