About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Technical Writer to join our team in Memphis, TN. The ideal candidate will possess a strong ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively. This role involves creating, editing, and maintaining technical documentation that supports our products and services, requiring a blend of research skills, technical knowledge, and collaboration with various teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and produce high-quality technical documentation, including user manuals, installation guides, and online help content.
• Conduct thorough research to gather information from subject matter experts and existing documentation.
• Edit and proofread documents to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to company standards.
• Utilize tools such as Visio for creating diagrams and flowcharts that enhance understanding of complex processes.
• Collaborate with engineering, product management, and other departments to gather necessary information for documentation.
• Maintain an organized library of documents and ensure all materials are up-to-date.
• Communicate effectively with team members to clarify requirements and resolve any discrepancies in documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 2 years of experience in technical writing.
• 2 years of experience writing documentation for multiple audiences.
• 2 years of experience in creating visuals and diagrams.
• 2 years of experience in technical support content.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and other word processing software.
• Strong proofreading abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent research skills to gather accurate information.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with Visio or similar diagramming tools for visual representation of processes.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with technical teams and stakeholders.
