Technical Writer

About the position

We are looking for a part-time Technical Writer to manage and create various internal and external technical documents. Technical documents could include user manuals, product data sheets, testing protocols, and product descriptions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and write detailed technical documents that convey complex technical material in a concise and effective manner.
• Review and edit content (Technical proposals, User manuals, Datasheets)
• Work closely with system architects, design engineers, and manufacturing technicians in order to gain a good understanding of the materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred or minimum 2-4 years equivalent work experience
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• Superior command of the English language including rules and usage
• Proficient in using common authoring tools such as Adobe Acrobat, MS Office, Visio, PowerPoint, Keynote, or OmniGraffle
• Strong research skills including gathering and analyzing data from multiple sources
• Strong attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Optical communication, optical imaging and depth sensing systems.

Benefits

• $45 - $55 an hour
• Salary pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, certifications, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges are subject to change in the future.
